Comparative Review of Hybrid Forecasting Models for Short-Term Prediction of Building Thermal Load

The paper presents a comparative review of hybrid models for short-term forecasting of building thermal demand, focusing on data-driven approaches enhanced with advanced techniques. It evaluates 13 hybrid methods using a dataset of historical thermal demand and weather forecasts from Scottish households, finding that the EMD-LSTM-Markov model achieves the highest accuracy in predicting day-ahead heating and domestic hot water demand patterns, though it underestimates high power swells and spikes.
