Predict Before You Modify: Learning Improvement Dynamics for Self-Evolving Agents

Self-evolving agents improve through cycles of modification and evaluation. This work introduces an editable Improvement Dynamics Model (IDM) that predicts the outcomes of proposed modifications before evaluation and guides optional revisions. IDM is improved based on past modifications and their observed outcomes, enabling the accumulation of predictive knowledge across generations.
