The Agentic Scientist: Orchestrating Coding Agents for Automated Scientific (Co-)Discovery

Modern coding agents are transforming the role of human input in computational research by writing code, launching in silico experiments, analyzing results, and operating autonomously with increasing time horizons. To address limitations in ideation and myopic search, The Agentic Scientist introduces an end-to-end distributed pipeline for human researchers to conduct computational research alongside coding agents. The system includes stages like planning, experimentation, analysis, and report writing, managed by a meta-controller that enforces rubric verification at each step.
