Interaction-Gated Time-Frequency Learning for Parameter-Efficient PPG-Based Heart Rate Estimation

This paper proposes TF-IG, a parameter-efficient time-frequency learning framework for PPG-based heart rate estimation. The method uses a dual-branch architecture where a temporal branch captures pulse morphology and a frequency branch extracts cardiac periodicity information. An interaction-gated fusion module is introduced to model feature agreement and discrepancy while learning feature-wise weights to balance temporal and spectral information.
