Scaling Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning for Brain Encoding

Brain encoding models aim to predict neural responses to stimuli. This study demonstrates that parameter-efficient fine-tuning (PEFT) enables effective adaptation of very large pretrained models for brain encoding with a minimal number of trainable parameters. The method leverages the backbone's causal structure to predict multiple timepoints in a single pass, reducing feature-extraction costs.
