World Models with Configurable Perception

Real-world observations often contain noise and excessive task-irrelevant information. Existing world models are typically non-adaptive, leading to state representations easily distracted by irrelevant data. To address this, ConfigWM uses a task description to configure state extraction, preserving task-relevant information while suppressing distractions. It shows stable performance in noisy environments and outperforms existing methods.
