Serverless Gossip Training of LSTM Failure Detectors: A Comparison with Federated, Local, and Centralized Learning on NASA C-MAPSS

The study compares serverless gossip training with federated, local, and centralized learning for LSTM-based failure detection on the NASA C-MAPSS dataset. Gossip learning achieved similar performance to FedAvg, with 89.6% F1 on FD001, while outperforming local training and approaching centralized results. It showed robustness to simulated network issues and maintained model agreement despite decentralized communication.
